The College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) at the University of North Texas is one of the largest art schools in the country and a major hub of innovation for the Dallas Fort Worth area. The new facility matches CVAD’s ambitions and national success, setting a new standard in studio, workshop and teaching spaces for innovative and interdisciplinary arts and design education.

Horace Mann School

The Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HMS) is the oldest public day school for the deaf and hard of hearing in the United States. Machado Silvetti assisted the City of Boston with an initial study of three existing school buildings to assess their potential as a temporary (5-10 year) swing space for HMS. Through a rigorous evaluation and presentation, the study determined the Edwards School in Charlestown, MA would best serve the needs of HMS and BPS future flexibility.

Vietnamese-German University

Machado Silvetti is the Master Planner for this 50.5 ha campus AND Design Architect for the 327,000 square meters (3,519,800 SF) of built area including laboratories, classrooms, food-courts, sports halls, administrative spaces and dormitories for 12,000 students. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is a unique collaboration between the World Bank, the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training and the German Hessen State Ministry of Science and Art.

NYU Global Center

The Center for Academic and Spiritual Life at New York University brings together students and scholars from a wide variety of religious backgrounds into one multi-faith and multi-function building on the NYU campus. The design strives to provide a strong expression of the spiritual mission of the building without relying on a singular religious iconography. We proposed that the Tree of Life, an image which is shared by all major faiths, be the inspiration for the façade.
