As part of Mayor Wu's Green New Deal initiative, the Feasibility Study for the West Roxbury Educational Complex (WREC) studies the viability of reuse, renovation, and expansion of the existing structure to house an Exam School (grades 7-12) for the Boston Public Schools.
Update
This June, Mayor Wu announced that the project will be moving forward, and that the O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science will have their future home in the renovated WREC. They share their current Roxbury building with the Madison Park Technical Vocational School. The shared building will also be renovated to house an expanded MPTV School. In her announcement, Mayor Wu detailed her vision for Boston’s public high schools, starting with academic rigor, partnerships, college preparation, and state-of-the-art facilities.
