Stephanie is a Partner and Design Principal at Machado Silvetti with twenty-eight years of experience in the field. Stephanie contributes to the day to day management and vision of the company while also overseeing many of the firm’s Cultural and Educational projects. Stephanie’s curiosity and interest in the dynamic relationship between contemporary work within existing structures began at an early age in Buffalo, NY surrounded by some of the most impressive industrial and art deco buildings and one of the largest modern art museum collections in the country.
Stephanie has a diverse portfolio of cultural and educational projects. She has most recently completed the Denver Art Museum’s North Building Project which included the extensive renovation of the 1971 Gio Ponti-designed North Towers and the design and construction of a new welcome center at the heart of the campus. Stephanie has a wealth of experience managing complex projects throughout all phases of design and construction. Her most recent efforts have had a focus on master planning and programming for arts and cultural facilities as demonstrated through her work on projects such as the Chazen Museum, the Kennedy Theatre and Studio Arts Building at Hamilton College, The McNay Museum of Art and the The New Bedford Whaling Museum.
As an advocate for equitable practice, Stephanie is an active member in the Boston Society for Architects Women’s Principal Group, and their Mentorship program. She continues to pursue her love of helping cultural and academic institutions program, plan, re-think and create spaces that incorporate art and innovative learning by sharing the firm’s strategies in numerous presentations and conferences.
