Overarching Program
The renovation of this 1920's warehouse building included improvements to the façade, through the addition of an entry canopy and a balcony, as well as the renovation of loft spaces on the interior. Three of the four interior levels were gutted for rentable commercial spaces, while the fourth floor has been converted into the owner's residence. Perimeter bearing walls and the timber structure have been left intact, while the interior spaces follow a free-plan organization, with the hierarchies of a central axis in the residential loft.

Balancing Public & Private
A steel-clad fireplace stands as an object in the space, defining the edge between public and private zones. Two square service rooms house a bathroom and dressing room, separating the living area in front from the bedroom in back. Additional service spaces are located immediately adjacent to the main loft space.
