Building Z of the Polo Dot Office Park has been recognized with the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Award of Excellence: Renovation Award. Completed earlier this year, Building Z represents the first phase of owner and developer IRSA’s Polo Dot Office Park, which was also master planned by Machado Silvetti.

Final Phases

According to the Jury Chair, Karl Fender:

“This year’s Award of Excellence winners communicate the diversity of interdisciplinary thought and innovation that will characterize both current and future generations of urban development around the world. These recognitions, bestowed by the world’s premier authority on tall buildings, showcase these projects to a global audience and help drive a meaningful conversation about the quality of our urban environments.”

The Building Z project includes the complete restoration of a 1930s factory building and addition on top of the existing structure. Rather than a vertical continuation of the existing building structure, the project composes an addition of a different contemporary language on top of the former factory.
